Right now, millions of abandoned dogs are huddled on frozen streets, digging through garbage, trembling in the cold. They're not strays by choice. They were pets — beloved companions who trusted humans, who knew what warmth felt like. And then one day, they were left behind.
That's exactly why Saving the Paws was started.
Because someone had to stop looking away. Someone had to show up — not just share a post, not just feel sad — but actually go out there, bowl in hand, and feed the dogs that everyone else walks past.
Today, we're a team of 100+ volunteers who do exactly that. Every single day. Who drive to garbage dumps at 5am. Who walk through dangerous neighborhoods in the dark. Who show up in freezing weather because these dogs have no one else.
We've fed over 130,000 dogs. We've watched starving puppies grow strong. We've seen mother dogs finally have enough milk for their babies. We've turned hollow-eyed, terrified animals into dogs who run toward us when they hear our van coming.
But we can't do it alone.
Every day, we make impossible choices. Which neighborhoods to cover. Which dogs to reach first. How many we can help before we run out of food. Dogs get skipped — not because we don't care, but because we simply don't have enough.
